Cordially greeting each other, the Turkmen leader and the head of the Japanese Government expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss the status and prospects of interstate relations based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual goodwill of the parties.

Thanking Prime Minister Shinzō Abe for the constant attention and support paid to strengthening the traditionally friendly Turkmen-Japanese dialogue, which in recent years has acquired new dynamics and has steadily developed, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that regular contacts established at the highest level provided a reliable foundation for the further enhancement of efficient cooperation.

In this regard, the interlocutors underlined the importance of further expansion of the established fruitful educational and scientific contacts, including in the field of education and training of Turkmen specialists.

Noting that our country took the message of Mr. Shinzō Abe’s resignation as Prime Minister for health reasons with understanding, the Turkmen leader thanked Mr. Shinzō Abe for the active joint work and great personal contribution to the development of interstate relations. At the same time, it was confirmed the interest of Turkmenistan in the progressive strengthening of interstate dialogue and willingness for constructive cooperation with the new Government of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Expressing confidence that his successor as Prime Minister of Japan will continue to develop bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation in every possible way, Mr. Abe once again thanked the Turkmen leader for the attention paid to interstate cooperation and strengthening friendly contacts at the highest level.

At the end of the telephone conversation, which took place in a confidential, friendly atmosphere, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Japan wished all the best to each other and the peoples of the both countries.
